Remembrance of the nation's war dead for many people, conjures up poppies, wreaths, the two-minute silence and the local war memorial on Remembrance Sunday. This is right and proper but, for many, it is not enough. Spirit of Remembrance (SoR) offers more. Much more. A VERY DIFFERENT type of remembrance in the form of a unique remembrance and battlefield travel experience - DEDICATED to REMEMBERING those whose sacrifices gave us the freedom we enjoy today.
Our dedication is written from the heart. We offer a deeper form of Remembrance that comes from understanding the events that led to the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of our young men and women in the fiery crucible of war and conflict. True understanding comes from visiting where history was made in the company of like minded people and an expert battlefield guide, taking you to the most famous battles in which British and Commonwealth soldiers took part, and telling it how EXACTLY how it was. Besides being amazing storytellers the majority of our guides also have operational service experience.
All of our tours are painstakingly and meticulously researched, use expert battlefield guide/ historians, feature high quality transport and accommodations throughout as well as include many inclusions not included in other operators tours. We also pride ourselves on our ability to thoroughly research individual client requests for extensive information for their family - using in many cases historical research facilities that are not available to the public. This also extends to the battlefield itself where our guides can often pinpoint where your ancestor fell in battle.
Our expertise covers both FIRST WORLD WAR and SECOND WORLD WAR tours, personalized journeys with tailor made tours for individuals or families and larger groups for likeminded people, and we also arrange tours for regimental or local associations. Our themed tours are fascinating - and we can also tailor make these to include any special areas of interest you have.
We also recognise the contributions of the Armed Forces in our "Remember Them" section, and with this in mind we actively promote Coming Home who are the fundraising campaign for Haig Housing Trust raising funds to provide specially adapted homes for seriously wounded and injured Service men and women.
We welcome everyone, veterans and their relatives and those researching their family history with our guides helping you fill out many gaps in your family history.
